About the School

Welcome message

I welcome you to GS BUKORA where we all work together to develop in our students the capacity to become independent life-long learners.

GS BUKORA is a public day school located in Eastern Province, KIREHE District, Nyamugari Sector, Bukora Cell, Maranyundo Village.

A highly dedicated and professional band of teachers work tirelessly to ensure that the school motto is brought to life on a daily basis in all classrooms. Student achievement is monitored very closely by each teacher and developmentally structured classroom programs cater for the individual needs of students within a culture of academic excellence.

We thank our current parents for entrusting their children to our care and we look forward to welcoming new families to our school community in the near future!

Background

Background Information

Groupe Scolaire BUKORA was constructed by LWF assisted by UNHCR in 1996 - 1997 as a solution to children of Rwandan refugees expelled from Tanzania and resettled in Bukora Cell.

This school started as a primary school with the name "ECOLE PRIMAIRE BUKORA (EP BUKORA)". Later in 2011, the ordinary level started and the name changed to GROUPE SCOLAIRE BUKORA (GS BUKORA).

From 1997 until today, 7 head teachers have managed this school and the current head teacher is MIRASANO Theoneste.

Today, GS BUKORA has Nursery Level (N1-N3), Primary Level (P1-P6) and Ordinary Level (S1-S3). There are around 1100 students in all levels and 34 staff members.
